What better way to kick off my new Second Life® blog than by talking about perhaps the most unique build I’ve seen.
Last night, I had the pleasure of attending a press conference for CodeBastard (”Codie”) Redgrave’s new sim, Rouge.
Red. It’s everywhere. And it’s gorgeous.
When I first arrived at Rouge, I was overwhelmed by the lavish red landscape that lay before me. A few minutes into the press conference, Codie encouraged all of us to pan up and look at the island from the air. Looking at the sim from an aerial view, you quickly see that it has been terraformed to create the silhouette of Codie herself!
So what’s it all about? As you may already know, CodeBastard Redgrave is the creator of the MachinimaCam, the Dramavatar fashion line, and the Boudoir Rouge portraits. She’s also the force behind the Code Red Lounge and Gallery. Rouge will be the new home of the Boudoir Rouge Gallery Walk, Code Red Lounge, and Rouge Boutique.
A black and red feather boa makes up the roof to the Gallery Walk. Codie’s hair becomes a cover over Code Red Lounge. It’s incredible.
Inside the giant dance pole on the island, visitors will find the Rouge Boutique. At the boutique, Residents will find Redgrave’s famous styles, in addition to those of other SL designers including Bluebell Productions, Casa del Shai, Juicy, and Tesla. Of course, everything for sale in the boutique will be red!
The unbelievably talented builder/designer/artist, Eshi Otawara designed and built the island fantasy which was conceptualized by Redgrave. What’s amazing is that it uses just over 2500 prims - this includes structure, artwork, and furnishing.
Rouge will be a safe haven for adults in Second Life®. It’s all about beauty - art, fashion, and people. There is a dress code, folks - wear red, wear lingerie, or wear nothing. It’s up to you.Redgrave also intends to make her island masterpiece available for parties, fashion shows, and other events.
The Grand Opening Party starts today at 2pm and will continue on through the night. With little time to spare, I must be off to find my outfit!
