Grid Life

I wanted to thank everyone for their tremendous enthusiasm and support on my Second Life Viewer Cheatsheet. Torley’s post on the Official Second Life blog has resulted in a large number of downloads and I’m so happy that other Residents are finding this resource useful. I’m taking everyone’s feedback and working to have a new updated version out in a few days! You guys rock.

I’ve also had requests for several other types of cheatsheets and quickstart guides in the areas of LSL, getting started in SL, building 101, machima, avatar customization, and the list goes on. I love these ideas, so consider me on it! Expect more cheatsheet-style resources for Second Life in the coming weeks and months!

So now I’m going to reach out to you guys for some help. First thing is…

Translations!

The cheatsheets and quickstart guides will only be useful to you if you can read them. So I’m looking for volunteers to help me get the next version of the Viewer cheatsheet translated. If you are interested, please add a comment to this post or email me at cheatsheet <at> kippiefriedkin <dot> com. In your email or comment, please include your SL name or email address (any way I can contact you) and the language you can provide translation for! The more languages we can support, the better.

So thanks again for your support and enthusiasm, stay tuned for more updates and resources to help make Second Life a better (and easier) place to live and play! :-)

    I run an in-world translation company. I would be interested in translating them and think I might have an interesting offer for you. Please contact me in-world or by email.

    You’re definitely making many peoples’ 2nd lives easier. I’m looking forward to your next version with some of the updates from the comments, and in particular Id like to second what someone else suggested as well:

    ” Nice one here, I really do appreciate your effort.
    My humble request - as a PC user - or call it a question;
    Wouldn’t it be more readable if there were two sheets, one with PC shortcuts only and one with Mac shortcuts only?
    Personally I believe it would increase the readability quite a bit. ”

    Sorry I can’t help with translation. We Yanks are sadly fairly monolingual, and neither my Spanglish nor my high school Latin just won’t help I’m afraid. ;)

    This cheat sheet is great! I have a recommendation - break the sheet into 2 pieces (1 Mac, 1 PC) as having both on once sheet makes it difficult to read and I doubt very many people use both systems at the same time.

    This is superb. Simply one of the most useful posts I’ve ever seen about SL. Thank you for it.
