Today I had the pleasure of getting an early preview of Damien Fate’s new project, Loco Pocos (which means, “Crazy Tinies” in Spanish).

Loco Pocos are a set of highly customizable tiny woodland creature avatars. The great looking avs are well-priced, only L$350, and come with a HUD which allows you to change the eye and fur color of your character. These adorable avatars also include a set of custom sounds, gestures, and facial expressions (which are also controlled through the HUD).

The Loco Pocos store also allows you to purchase accessories for your avatar. These include hair, shoes, shirts, skirts, hats, eye wear, and even wings! I should note that there are more avatars and accessories planned for the coming months.
My avatar is the Bertha model. I also purchased a set of wings, spikey hair, and some cool googles to complete the look.

Locos Pocos are not just about cute tiny avatars. There is an entire island to discover with a great story and many little puzzles, games, journals, and prizes to discover. It reminded me a bit of Animal Crossing, a game for the Nintendo DS, but the avatar customization and graphics are far superior at Loco Pocos.

When I spoke with Fate about the build, he seemed very happy with the initial reaction of the early preview group and much contented with his work. Rightfully so, I’d say. Astonishingly, Fate built this entire experience on his own over the course of three months.

The experience is one that I’d highly recommend you check out. This is one of those places in Second Life that doesn’t feel like a typical Second Life build. From the minute you rez in, it feels like you’ve entered another world. A tiny, little world.

You can learn more about Loco Pocos at their supporting website. The public unveiling of Loco Pocos is scheduled for July 9th. But if you can’t wait that long, simply join the Loco Pocos group in Second Life for early access. You won’t regret it!
